Feeding our children good nutritious food is important and an issue as parents we all come across at some point. Nutrition plays a large part in our childrens overall health. Homemade meals are better for all of us and so should be part of your children’s diets.
Children’s nutrition needs are different from adults. Children need certain vitamins and minerals for healthy growth. Some of the important vitamins a child needs are vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B12, and vitamin E. Important minerals are calcium, iron, zinc and potassium.
Prepared baby food is convenient and most of us all will use it at some point. There is nothing wrong in using ready to eat baby food from time time. But homemade food is still better for a number of reasons. One reason is cost. For the price of two days supply of babies food you will be able to feed your baby for a week of homemade food. The money that is saved can be spend in other ways on your family. Homemade food is fresh. You can use any fresh ingredients. While prepacked baby foods has been packed in that tin for months. Also they are going to be packed with preservatives. Although they will say on the tin no artificial colouring or preservative, but they are added to some extend.
Homemade food is totally preservative free if you use fresh ingredients. Also prepacked baby food tends to get wasted if your baby can not eat the whole tin. With homemade you can control how much you make for your baby, the rest you can freeze for another day. Also homemade baby food can also be the same as the rest of the families meal. Just take it out for the baby before you add the salt.
